Coaching is really about a relationship - it creates a unique empowered relationship for change.

People participate in, or seek out coaching because they want things to be different. People come to coaching for many different individual reasons. They are motivated to achieve specific goals: to start a business, to have a healthier body, to compete for a job promotion. They come to coaching in order to be more effective or satisfied at work or to develop new skills to help navigate life's changes.

Sometimes people want more from life - more peace of mind, more security, more impact in their work. And sometimes they want less - less confusion, less stress, less financial pressure. In general, they come to coaching because they want a better quality of life; more fulfillment, better balance or a different process of accomplishing their life desires.

Is Coaching Different Than Therapy?

A common misconception is that coaching is the same as therapy, when in fact they are quite different. Therapy is intended to help people recover from emotional or other psychological challenges such as depression or anxiety. Coaching, on the other hand, is intended to help healthy individuals achieve personal goals.

Coaching is focused on the present and future and it involves the art of discovering answers to simple, powerful questions:

Where do you want to make a difference in your life?
What do you value most in your relationship with others?
What works for you when you are successful at making changes?
Where do you usually get stuck?
What motivates you?
How do you deal with disappointments or failures?
How are you at doing what you say you will do?

How Coaching Works

Coaching sessions can take place in person, over the phone or on Skype. There is a strong emphasis on collaboration but also upon personal responsibility and accountability. Prior to each coaching session, there will "Prep Forms" which focus on accomplishments, challenges and what you wish to accomplish in the upcoming session.

As your coach, I will help you clarify what you want, address the limits or blocks that are standing in your way, identify gaps and help you to move forward towards taking action. And ultimately towards reaching your goals!
